Variants of the Tiger Theater Dance in Mexico

By Óscar Cortés Palma

In Mexico dance dances where some of their performers disguise themselves as JAGUARES. Next I present two maps where I show the variants of these Mexican dances. Later a book with this information will be published.

The Jaguars known colloquially as TECUANES or TIGERS are fundamental part of these dances, to the degree that the great majority of them are known like dances of the tecuanes.

These dances abound in the center-South of Mexico. In this region the scenes of theatrical dances are performed by a dancer disguised as JAGUAR or TECUAN or TIGER.
